Antique Store Re-visited…
She did it. She did it again. She revisited the antique store that is Beyond Description. Remembering a pair of child-sized chairs she saw tucked in a corner, and wondering if there might be a child-sized table in there somewhere too.
It was a successful trip. The owner dug and dove and searched and found a little table underneath the Massive Piles of Stuff.
To say she was tickled to get all three items for $30 is an understatement. She was positively thrilled.
But the question remains… What shall she paint them??
The table is a while veneer finish on top, wooden spindle legs. I was thinking about putting square tiles on the top?? Or just leaving it white?
The chairs are very blue. Husband thinks they could be okay left like that, but I wasn’t thinking primary color blue. I was thinking more, um, maybe Pottery Barn blue?
Ideas, anyone? Each and every one shall be appreciated!

ok, that is just darling. for zoe i presume?? that tile idea sounds awesome– although i would have no idea how to do that. please if you do it show us how too! i love to try knew things. i have a sickness that would make me paint the whole deal red. but i am not recommending that. like i said, it`s a sickness…
RYC: i had to laugh that you find me inspiring. i`d have to say ditto. and i would have to say i find you a 100 times more creative naturally than me.
just saying.
i was going to comment on the sweet pictures of baby with mama and blueberries. the closeups of the feet and berries were stellar. and well, i loved it all really.
looked like a beautiful evening in– georgia?
I say red, too, but then I paint everything red. I think I have the sickness, too.
A darker blue would be cute, too. What a neat find!
Paint them all three a different color, say yellow, red, and blue or whatever 3 colors you want to put together.
great find! tiles could be cute, but may get destroyed once the little miss starts to color with markers, or has a brother that likes to be destructive! hehe be sure to post pics of the after product! your posts are great fun to read
I must say the I think the blue would be perfect…I love that color blue! I wonder how it would look to do a crackled blue. (with white underneath) Don’t know if you’ve ever tried that…?? Just my thoughts….
i think the color they are is darling…..
I love the idea of red, but I think I would do some black rubbing on it. Or possibly do them red with the seats of the chairs and the table top black (or vice versa). I’m sure whatever you do will be creative.
warm yellow table with chocolate brown chairs.. or vice versa…. maybe add some red accent to it, too… im thinkin these colors for my kitchen??
yes, he is from lancaster… we are buying a house in smoketown, and its pretty big, so i get to use lots of painting ideas
im so excited for that… and i want to go to your antique hole! do you know of anything like it around here??
I like them as they are – they look shabby chic to me.
